Founded in 2020, Aflorar Herb Collective is a collective of folk herbalists, herbal enthusiasts, artists, gardeners, and community organizers working to relearn, remember, and reclaim our traditional ways of care. Through herbs, connection to the land, and the wisdom of Chicanx, Latinx, Black, and Indigenous practices, we are nurturing pathways toward healing, liberation, and collective well-being. Aflorar continues to grow as a space where herbal justice is practiced daily through herbal remedies, shared knowledge, and creative expression.
In a time shaped by climate crisis, ongoing displacement, and systemic harm, our communities need accessible, land-based remedies and spaces that reconnect us to who we are and where we come from. That’s why we are building toward our next chapter:
The Climate Resilience Hub is Aflorar’s vision for a permanent space in Asheville, NC, where community care can take root and grow. Grounded in land, culture, and connection, the Hub will be a place to gather, rest, learn, and create together. It will support herbal education, shared meals, mutual aid, and healing practices while also serving as a steady anchor in times of crisis. This vision is shaped by community and built for the long term.
Right now, our work continues through care kit distribution, drop-off sites, and tabling across the WNC region and beyond. With your support, we can expand this work.
With your donation, you can:
- $20 helps cover a month of gas to deliver herbs to liberation zones across the community
- $120 or $12/month helps send 120 care kits to folks across the country
- $180 or $15/month provides enough herbs to make 100 small pouches of tea blends, breathe steams, and bath salts
- $250 or $20/month funds a tea station at a local community event—offering rest and care for organizers and community members
- $500 or $40/month supports one of our growers in our growing network
- $600 or $50/month provides enough tincture bottles for 6 months of supplies
